WELCOME!

Hello friends new & old! My name is Quincey & I am the founder of QT Cakes By Quincey. I am a Colorado native - growing up in Grand County, CO. who eventually made her way to Buena Vista, CO. where I’ve settled down with my Husband and our sweet little boy.

BACK STORY:

Since the age of 12, I’ve worked in any kind of restaurant you can think of - burger shacks, casual dining, fine dining.. I even had my years with large resorts and lodging.

Without knowing it at the time, I had already found my “dream job”.

Throughout the years of growing up and making my way through school, I spent many days (more like months) contemplating what I wanted my future career to be. I dove into the medical field some, dabbled with teaching & even considered cosmetology. My issue was not that I didn’t have any interests - - it’s that I had too many!

And with every school year coming to a close, I always found myself back in Hospitality - where it never felt like a “job” to me. It wasn’t until my third year in college that I realized I didn’t want to have a career where I had to coax myself into driving to everyday… but one that made me excited for Monday to roll around.

Which brings us to my LOVE of baking.

I learned to bake the basics growing up - cookies, brownies, the occasional bread - but started to find a fascination with it as my friends and I reached the exciting milestone of 21. I began creating what I called “alcoholic cupcakes” that would feature a cocktail in the form of a cupcake to celebrate their 21st Birthdays.

Eventually, this passion grew to the point of me turning it into my field of study!

2 weeks into my Fall Semester, I dropped all of my current teaching classes and applied to the Baking & Pastry/Culinary Arts Program at my University. I told myself “I’ll give it one semester, and if I hate it or think I’ve made a mistake - I can switch back.”

It took 15 minutes into my first culinary seminar for me to realize that I was finally “home”.

In 2017 “QT CAKES BY QUINCEY” was born:

After years of:

• Specializing and practicing the art of Baking in and out of the classroom…

• Graduating with multiple degrees in Baking & Pastry/Culinary Arts along with a Bachelors Degree in Hospitality Management…

• Working Pastry Chef jobs throughout Colorado…

I decided to take the leap out on my own. I knew I always had a passion for being in the kitchen - and now I had the right tools to make this into my career.

So in 2017, I launched “QT Cakes By Quincey” (deriving its name from my initials: Quincey Troudt)

Since then, QT Cakes By Quincey has made thousands of cakes/sweet treats, catered hundreds of weddings & brought more smiles and full bellies to people than I could’ve dreamed!

In the next couple years, I hope to expand QT Cakes into its very own shop here in Chaffee County, CO. Where you can relieve your sweet cravings anytime you like!
